System Overview

WebSpares enables you to display and update your illustrated parts catalogues online. In most industrial sectors, machine down time is a huge expense. Your catalogue will have a presence 24/7 to anyone, anywhere in the world.

Requirements
Any web browser later than Internet Explorer 4, Netscape 4, Opera and all Firefox versions.
PDF (portable document format) printer driver.
Any text, spreadsheet or database software.
Adobe acrobat reader 3 (or above) and browser plug in must be installed on the users PC.

Is it expensive?
No. There are no set-up fees, just a % of ordering through put. This is very cost effective if you have a current set of technical publications. WebSpares.net can output the basket contents in a variety of formats or we can produce bespoke outputs to fit in with your existing purchasing system.
Can WebSpares save my business money?
Definitely. Producing and distributing a hard copy illustrated parts catalogue on time is a major task. What about those last minute design changes, superseded parts and amendments? Will they ever get incorporated into all the existing hard copy manuals? With all those repetitive duplication and distribution expenses, it is easy to overlook the knock on costs for equipment down time and the supply of the wrong part. With WebSpares any changes can be updated in the database within minutes and is immediately available for viewing. Save time and money by ensuring your customer can see the part required. The guess work is removed from ambiguous descriptions. This will reduce time on the phone with enquirers who are trying to describe the part they require. The largest potential saving can be from reduced returns, which not only improves your standing with the customer, but also ensures you do not tie up staff with unnecessary administration.
Is it secure?
Only the WebSpares dedicated server hosts the WebSpares service. All software is kept up to date with the latest security patches. You can also password protect entry to your catalogue if required, just inform your selected audience whenever you change your password. All your master files reside with you. Only copies are uploaded on to the WebSpares server.
What about updates to part numbers and prices?
Update your database as often as you wish with no printing and distribution cost, this keeps your information more up to date, and lowers your costs.
Do I have to show prices?
No. WebSpares is aimed at specialist manufacturers and distributors alike. You do not need to put prices into the database. The user can fill the shopping basket with his wish list then submit the list to you for a quotation. Alternatively our purchasing module can be used to show prices and allow on-line transactions.
What if I do not have a current parts catalogue?
WebSpares can create your illustrated parts catalogue. We have over 20 years experience producing technical manuals. Please phone for a quotation.
How do my customers get to the catalogue?
Place a link from your web site to your secure space on the WebSpares server. Your customer can browse the information and create a shopping list, which is sent to your email address for processing. All you need to do is inform your customers about the availability of a parts catalogue on your web site. WebSpares has the facility to display a link to your home site if you wish to advertise your catalogue to a wider audience. WebSpares is actively marketing the WebSpares brand as a portal for spares procurement.
Who can put a parts catalogue online?
Anyone who needs to support a piece of equipment, be that a manufacturer, distributor, reseller or even an organisation that wants to make a list of parts available for their own internal use.
What software do I need to view the catalogues?
The WebSpares catalogue is viewable in any browser later than Internet Explorer 4, Netscape 4, Opera and all Firefox versions. Adobe acrobat reader must be installed on the users PC. Only HTML is sent to the browser, no cookies, script, or active X controls are used, which means that just about any computer no matter how tight the security settings are, can display the entire catalogue and send an enquiry.
Is the catalogue easy to use?
The site has been developed with ease of use in mind. A printable help file is available on the site. Users are only a few clicks from the information they require. This system allows user-friendly operation, with secure, professional performance and accurate ordering, giving the user confidence that they are ordering the right parts.
